Stop point - Halaszi - Church of St. Martin

In the Árpád period, the inhabitants of the settlement were fish transporters for the royal court of Moson. Halászi has been a farming town since 1550. Its late Baroque church, dedicated to St. Martin, was built by Archduchess Maria Christina in 1777. On the main altar of the church, the largest in Szigetköz with the largest floor area, is a painting by Maulbertsch's pupils, a composition depicting the miracles of St. Martin in one picture. The altarpiece is flanked on either side by a statue of St Florian and a statue of St Lipót. The windows of the sanctuary depict St Stephen and St Imre. The pulpit is in Rococo style, with artistic carving. Near the bridge over the Danube of Moson stands the chapel of St John of Nepomuk, built in 1895. In 1937, the inhabitants of the small village of Arak, which belonged to Halashi and was independent until 1934, built their church dedicated to St Teresa of Lisieux by public works.
