The rose garden (rosarium) was created in 2011, with the help of a grant, on an area of 8,200 square metres next to the chapel, which has been visited since the 16th century.
Sixty beds have been created, which are tended, pruned and hoed by local NGOs and local residents, and are scented with tea roses, park roses, ground cover roses and runner roses - 3,600 different rose species in all.
Wrought-iron rose planters and pergolas add to the garden's ornamental appeal. The rose garden could become a real tourist attraction in Szigetköz.
