After the founding of the Bishopric of Szombathely, János Szily, the first bishop, dedicated the diocese to the protection of Saint Martin and Saint Quirinus. Depictions of Quirinus and Martin can be found in the chapels of the Seminary, the Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace. In the northern chapel of the cathedral is a relic of Saint Martin, donated to Szombathely in 1913 by the Archbishop of Tours. The herm of St. Martin is the work of the sculptor István Tóth.
Also in the cathedral is a picture of St. Martin by Anton Maulbertsch from 1791.
Maulbertsch also painted the ceiling of the great hall of the bishop's palace, on the theme of St. Quirinus and St. Martin bringing Christianity to Pannonia.
The old chapel of the Papal Seminary was painted by Ferenc Stornó. The new chapel is decorated with a fresco by Béla Kontuly from 1941 depicting the whole life of Saint Martin.
The "landmark object" in the square in front of the church is the work of sculptor Gábor Veres and his pupils.
