The first written record of the village dates back to 1389. The village's patron saint is Bishop Saint Martin, and the village's feast day is held after Saint Martin's Day. The vine-growing tradition of the patron saint is also alive.
The church dedicated to St. Martin was built in 1902 by László Mazzag and his wife Julianna Balogh. A statue of the saint stands on the altar of the church. The other statue of St. Martin in the Millennium Park was inaugurated in 2001 by Attila Kovács. It is also worth visiting the Local History Collection in the former school building, which was built in 1872 and was in use until 1979.
