After 1530, the municipality had a new prison built in the market square, underground. A tower was placed above it. This is the pillar of shame that still stands today. In 1628, criminals were still being tied to the elm tree next to the former aristocratic tower.
The three concentric stepped bases of the bell tower have a slab-shaped stone column rising from the top third of the base, which is cylindrical. It is topped by a double cornice crowned by a spherical cone. The roof now bears the blue and white flag of the municipality.
It is the only bell tower in Hungary which has been preserved in its original place.
