On foot from Tours to Szombathely in forty days - Zsolt Kinyó's journey
Lac d'Aiguebelette at Lake AiguebeletteJ Zsolt Kinyó undertook to walk from Tours to Szombathely in the jubilee year of Saint Martin. There are already a few Hungarians who have walked the route, but they have done it in several stages or (partly) by bike. He will be the first Hungarian to complete the more than 2,000-kilometre journey in one piece and on foot. Others take three to four months to complete the journey, Zsolt just forty days. On this page we will keep you updated with news from and about him.
Late in the afternoon of 8 June: Arrival in Tours. Meeting with Bruno Judic, President of the French organisation of the Saint Martin's Way, and Patrice Lesage (Patrice has personal experience of the journey, having already walked from Tours to Szombathely).
By the evening of 11 June, Zsolt had reached Tournon-Saint-Martin. Because of an article in the local newspaper (La nouvelle republique), many people recognised him by the "shield" on his rucksack, shouted at him and waved.
Zsolt spent the night of 12 June in a stable. It was raining there, too, and he was thoroughly soaked.
13 June "Zsolt walked late into the evening today, but kept up the pace. It rained all day and he got soaked."
18 June Zsolt's message:

June 22nd Zsolt visits Lac d'Aiguebelette.
27 June Zsolt has meanwhile crossed the Alps and is walking towards Milan.
1 July Zsolt arrived in Milan.
7 July Zsolt approaches the Slovenian-Italian border. He is expected to arrive in Szombathely on the morning of 18 July
