The road links the villages along the Körös River and the Tisza River from Kunszentmárton to Tiszapüspöki, offering a variety of natural, architectural and cultural attractions and a wide range of active recreational opportunities.

The St Martin Pilgrimage Route connects Kunszentmárton and Tiszapüspökit in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, two Roman Catholic churches in the Tisza and Körös valleys dedicated to Bishop St Martin. Its symbol is St M, or St Martin, painted in red on a white background. This is the first tourist-signposted cultural route in the megaregion, which was designated in 2016 to mark the 1700th anniversary of the birth of Bishop Saint Martin. There are many settlements and churches named after St Martin in Hungary, because Martin was born in the former Savaria, now Szombathely.

The road runs from Kunszentmárton to Tiszapüspöki (Kunszentmárton - Szelevény - Cserkeszőlő - Csépa - Tiszasas - Tiszaug - Tiszakürt - Tiszainoka - Nagyrév - Cibakháza - Tiszaföldvár - Martfű - Kengyel - Szajol - Törökszentmiklós - Tiszapüspöki, as well as Kunszentmárton - Öcsöd - Mesterszállás - Kunszentmárton) and offers a variety of natural, architectural and cultural attractions and many opportunities for active recreation.

The route, which is about 100 km long, runs through flat countryside and is therefore particularly suitable for older people and families with young children. There are no difficult sections along the way. The route, which connects 18 villages, can be started from anywhere and can be walked in stages. Because of its flat terrain, it is also suitable for cyclists, and some sections can even be ridden on horseback. The villages are easily accessible by car, bus and train. Pilgrim's passes can be stamped at the local authorities and churches.
