In the centre of Mosonmagyaróvár, on Szent László Square, you will find the Church of St. Mary Queen of Hvar and St. Gotthard.
The building was built in the 18th century in the Baroque style and Frigyes Jummerspach, a local architect, designed an entrance in the style, giving a beautiful, unified image to the parish and the square. The fresco on the high altar in the church is the work of the painter Ferenc Schellmayer, while the ceiling of the sanctuary is by István Dorfmeister. The parish has 50 seats and 200 standing places, and it is interesting to note that weddings are held here at all times of the year.
